Our Mission
Greenwealth Community Initiative aims to reach the vulnerable groups in High Schools, commercial institutions, sporting and sports viewing centers in the country with various programs.
With research proving that illicit drug abuse among the youth is one of the social vices that had plagued the society which has led many youth to exhibit all sorts of anti-social behavior which is inimical to the development and well being of any society.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
Greenwealth Community Initiative aims to reach the vulnerable groups in High Schools, commercial institutions, sporting and sports viewing centers in the country with various programs.
The primary programs of the organization include:
- Lectures to motivate the youth in various communities in Nigeria.
- Counseling services
- Visit to remote parts of the communities and interact with young vulnerable groups.
- Organize vocational training and employment seminars.
- Education and advocacy for youths at risk.
- Youth leadership training aimed at building leadership and good governance among the youth in partnership with government agencies, NGOS, interested private individuals and corporate organizations to ameliorate the plight of the vulnerable groups.
- To promote prevention of substance abuse among the youth in our society.
- To create deliberate awareness of substance abuse and its destructive effects among the youth.
- To promote attitudinal change among the youth in collaboration with interested and corporate bodies, private individuals and religious institutions.
- To set in motion an effective mechanism for rehabilitation of those caught by the web of drug abuse
Freedom is a Human Right
The drugs commonly abused in Nigeria especially among the youth include: Marijuana (Igbo) alcohol, (Ogogoro) Tobacco (Cigarette) smoking, inhalants and glue sniffing among the teeming street children and great number of under-employed and unemployed youth university graduates inclusive.
Statistics indicate that there is an increasing number of youth turning to drug addiction. This can be seen in the increase in violent crimes, such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and other forms of hostage taking for ransom, political thuggery and the associated murders and the violent destruction of lives and property at the slightest provocation amongst other irresponsible lifestyle and lawlessness among the youth.
